NEW SPONSOR AND STAKE ANNOUNCED FOR SHOW DAY FUTURITY September 9, 2013
The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club (NZMTC) is pleased to announce that the Show Day Futurity Mobile Pace to be held on Canterbury Anniversary Day, Friday, November 15, will be sponsored by harness racing enthusiasts Glenys and Philip Kennard.
Glenys and Philip are fantastic supporters of racing at Addington not only as business partners having sponsored races through their property company Professionals Kennard Real Estate Ltd in recent times, but also as owners. Glenys and Philip love coming to Addington to see their horses race and they have enjoyed huge success of late.

Some of their stars that they co-own include Smolda, Highview Tommy, Border Control and Fly Like An Eagle amongst a pretty impressive group who have won some of harness racing’s most prestigious races said Ged Mooar of Addington.
“It’s great to have them on board on Show Day,” said Mr Mooar.
The Show Day Futurity, which will run for a stake of $36,000 in 2013 will take the name of “Glenys & Philip Kennard/Graphite Developments Futurity Mobile Pace.”
Graphite Developments Ltd builds three and four bedroom family homes as well as investment properties. Graphite Developments Ltd currently has properties for sale in Bryndwr, Halswell, Rolleston and Hornby.
There will be a consolation of the Glenys & Philip Kennard/Graphite Developments Futurity held on Friday 29 November for a stake of $14,000 for those horses who did not make the Show Day race and there is provision for a further consolation for a stake of $10,000 to be held on Saturday, December 14. For an enrolment fee of just $115 this provides ample opportunity for a healthy return on investment, with a stakes pool totalling $60,000.
The inaugural running of the Show Day Futurity Mobile Pace that took place last year, was won by the Nigel McGrath trained Democracy and is proving to be a popular race for many trainers to target.

The Futurity is eligible for pacers aged four years old and older on the 1 August, who were three years old and older on the 3 July, and were either eligible for a non-winners race or who were unqualified as at July 3.
At the time enrolments closed there were a healthy 87 horses nominated with the NZMTC for the race.
As at September 9, the leader board is headed up by five horses all on 10 points. These five are Franco Nikau, Kotare Mahal, Mac The Finn, Smoken Roman and Upanatom.
