AUCKLAND TC, Friday, November 20
Race 1: ARANNALEA (3, Mark), 2200m std: “Hasn’t raced since May and hasn’t trialled so will be better with the race. She’s better off racing for $12,000 up there than starting down here. Began good her only stand start race so if she trots all the way she’s good enough to win a maiden.”
Race 3: EYRE I COME (5, Mark), 2700m std: “Blair gave him every chance on NZ Cup day but he didn’t finish off good enough. The winner (Petite One) went a NZ mares record for 3200m so hopefully it might be a little bit easier for him up there.”
Race 7: NORTHERN VELOCITY (7, Tony Herlihy), mob. 2200m: “We ran the last quarter in 26.9s at Addington but still got beat but she’s still on the way up. Going to be a bit tough from the draw so looking for luck.”
Race 8: REAL TORQUE (5, Mark), mob. 2200m: “Went good last week but the one on the sprint lane (Bronze Over) had the last say. Should be a strong each-way chance.”
TIMARU HRC, Saturday, November 21
Race 7: ZAKSPATROL (9), 3, 10m, 2600m std: “Freshened up after last racing at Auckland at the beginning of September. Hasn’t trialled so will be better with a race.”
Race 8: FAIR DINKUM BROMAC (10), mob. 2000m: “He’s getting closer to a downgrade so will go round again. He usually races good at Timaru but just an outside place with the right luck.”
Race 9: DERRINGER (7) & CORINGA DELIGHT (12), mob. 2600m:
“Derringer is racing good and always a chance.”
“Coringa Delight is going better than her form looks. Could be an upset place show with the right luck.”
