CHANGES TO INTER CONDITONS & OTHER RACES

 

Following the devastating earthquake in Christchurch on February 22, 2011, a number of changes have been made to the 2011 Inter Dominion and the placement of other feature races.

The PGG Wrightson NZ Yearling Sales Series Fillies Pace – $175,000 will be hosted by the Rangiora HRC on Wednesday March 30, 2011. The following NZ Metropolitan TC features will have date changes, with an announcement of these likely later this week with regard to the following:

Canterbury Country Cups Final3yo Flying Stakes (Group 2), NZ Derby (Group 1), 2YO Welcome Stakes (Group 1) & NZ 3YO Trotting Derby (Group 1).

The 2011 Inter Dominion has been moved to Auckland. Alexandra Park will play host to the NZ Metropolitan TC, with the three Inter Dominion dates remaining the same.

Below are the supplementary Inter Dominionconditions and alterations for the series.

2011 Christchurch Casino Inter Dominion Supplementary Conditions and Alterations

1 / All three nights of the Series will be conducted by the NZ Metropolitan TC at Alexandra Park, Auckland,on Friday  March 25, 2011, Friday April 1, 2011 , and Friday April 8, 2011.

2 / The first round of heats will be Mobile 2700 metre events for both Pacers and Trotters.  The second round of heats will be Mobile 2200 metre events for both Pacers and Trotters, and the Pacers and Trotters Grand Finals and Consolations will be Mobile 2700 metre events.

3 / Field Sizes – Both Pacing and Trotting Championships shall be limited to 13 starters, plus two common emergencies. The maximum number that shall start on the front row is eight. This applies to Heats, Finals and Consolations.

4 / The stake for the Christchurch Casino Inter Dominion Pacing Final will be $800,000. The Trotters Final will be conducted for $250,000. The breakdown of stake monies will be determined by the number of acceptors.

5 / The Pacers Heats will carry a stake of $40,000 and the Pacers Consolation will be run for $50,000. The Trotters Heats will carry a stake of $30,000 and the Trotters Consolation will be run for $30,000.

6 / All races for both Pacers and Trotters in the Championship remain a Random Barrier

7 / An additional date of 3.00pm NZ time Friday 11 March 2011 has been added to the Inter Dominion Championship timetable. This date is applicable for the following:

i/ Any horse not originally nominated for the Championship may nominate by this date and time. Such horse will be subject to the fees applicable to this point in time. i.e. : A nomination fee and sustaining payment. For Pacers this represents $2000 + GST, for Trotters $750 + GST.

ii/ Any horse originally nominated for the series but subsequently withdrawn may re-enter, providing the fees to this point in time are paid.

iii/ Any horse already withdrawn that does not wish to re-enter has forfeited the fees paid to date.

iv/ Any horse already entered for the series, but not yet withdrawn, shall be entitled to a full refund of all fees paid to date should it not wish to participate in the relocated series.

8 / Horses which are nominated for the Inter Dominion series, remain acceptors unless withdrawn, and are subject to associated fees.

9 / Whilst it is intended that three Pacing Heats and two Trotting Heats be held on each of the first two nights, the club reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of heats and adjust all impacted conditions.

10 / Final rankings remain the same date. These will be released at 3.00 pm Monday 14 March 2011.

11 / Final acceptances remain the same date, and are required by 3.00 pm Tuesday 15 March 2011. These fees are $2500 + GST for Pacers and $1250 + GST for Trotters.

12 / Whilst the Inter Dominion rankings will determine the horses that will participate in the Championship, the club reserves the right should the situation present itself to allow a horse originally nominated or withdrawn, and subsequently re-entered for the series on the 20th December 2010, preference to participate over any new nomination made by 3.00 pm Friday 11 March 2011.

13 / Lodging Nominations – All nominations must be submitted on the prescribed Nomination Form and signed by either the owner, trainer or authorised agent and be accompanied by the relevant nomination fee. Nomination forms can be lodged by mail, sent by facsimile or lodged by hand at the offices of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club.
