EX-OVERPORT LODGE WINNERS

Former Overport Lodge pacer Alex, now racing in New South Wales as Im Alex, notched his third win in eight Australian starts at Menangle on Monday, June 24.

Still raced by Queensland owner Greg Brodie, the Courage Under Fire gelding overcame the seven gate to win the Industry Day This Sunday Pace in 1:58 (1609m), the last 800m in 57.7s and final 400m in 28.6s.

AlexaddprelimAlex, now trained by Peter Walsh, reduced his lifetime mile best to 1:54.8 when scoring his second Menangle win on April 23.

Ex-Overport Lodge trotter Beau Brummell notched his sixth careeer win at Menangle on Tuesday.

He won as a $1.70 favourite in the day’s opener the $7000 Glenferrie Farm Trotters Mobile for NSW owner-trainer-driver Michael Muscat.

After settling handy on the outer, the 4YO Earl gelding finished best to score in a 2:01.7 for the 1609m, the last 800m in 60.4s and final 400m in 29.5s.

Racing as The Beau Brummell in Australia, he took his career record to 41 starts for six wins and 10 placings for $39,541 in stakes.

Charlotte Two added to the list of former Mark Jones-trained winners for the week when she scored Cobram, Victoria, on Wednesday, June 26.

The 5YO Live Or Die-Polly’s Atom mare placed in two of three NZ starts for breeders and former owners, Frances and Max Bowden.

Charlotte Two was too tough after being caught wide, then improving in the open, when taking out the C2 Bakers Delight Pace over 1670m.

She rated 1:57.4 for the journey, the leaders running their last 800m in 58s.

Charlotte Two had won her first three starts in Victoria last October-November. She has now raced in Australia five times for four wins and a second.
