Mark and Benny send their first runners around together in partnership this weekend, kicking off at Methven, Friday afternoon.
The new colours will seen on track after completion around November 7.
METHVEN, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1
RACE 4 FINE BY ME (1, fr. 1609m mob) Ricky May, & MRS WASHINGTON (8, fr.) Sam Ottley -“Fine By Me may be on her last chance. She needs to offer something from this draw. Mrs Washington is working really well. She has come up nice again, drawn wider, or course,” said Benny.
RACE 5 BEAUDIENE OVERTAKE (2, fr. 1609m mob) Korbyn Newman – “Also working well. Hasn’t raced since winning in July. Korbyn drives for his family connections and hoping she runs well for them.” (Benny).
RACE 7 SIOUX PRINCESS (14, U1, 1609m mob) Sam Ottley -“She ran well here two back but put on a bit of a performance galloping a few times at Addington since. Hoping for better back to the grass track,” said Mark.
RACE 8 DONEGAL GILBERT (12, fr. 1609m mob) Ricky May -“I really preferred Methven to Kaikoura where he’s owned by Murray Boyd because he’s not the best pacer and the Kaikoura track just doesn’t suit him. Win, lose or draw with him he’ll have a good day out, we’re hoping he’ll handle the grass okay in his first try.” (Benny).
ALEXANDRA PARK, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1
RACE 7 LULU LE MANS (7, fr. 2200m mob) Maurice McKendry -“Rapt with her effort first time around up there as I did think she’d improve a lot with the run. Showed a nice turn of speed and rounded it off great. A pretty handy field she meets but we at least draw nicely. Good guide.” (Mark).
NEWCASTLE, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1
RACE 4 TAKARA TRUFFLE (10, fr. 1609m mob) Guy Chapple -“She’s back to the provincials after two big metro wins. Drawn wide but in very good form,” said co-trainer Aaron Goadsby.
KAIKOURA, MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4
RACE 3 ORLANDO MAGIC (2, fr. 2400m stand) Sam Ottley -“Really pleased to get that win at Forbury with her. She’s come home a little tired for a day or two after three starts down south but bounced back now. Tricky track, if there is a concern it’s the bends.” (Mark).
RACE 4 SIOUX PRINCESS (2, fr. 2400m stand) Sam Ottley -“We’ll see how she goes at Methven but likely to run again in this one. If it’s her day to feel like it then you never know.” (Mark).
