SIRES STAKES 3YO FINAL UP TO $200,000
The N.Z. Sires Stakes Board is pleased to announce that the harness racing stake of the NRM Sires Stakes 3YO colts and gelding final to be held on Cup Day, November 8, at Addington will be $200,000.
In addition the stake of the Alabar Sires Stakes 3YO Fillies Championship to be held at Auckland on December 31 will be $170,00.
The increase in the Group 1 subsidies has allowed the Board along with the host clubs to make an increase of $20,000 per Final.
The Board will maintain the heat stakes for both series at $18,000 but any heat hosted by the Auckland Trotting Club (not tenant clubs) will be at $20,000. In addition a non-winners incentive of $1,000 and $500 will be paid to the first two non winners to finish in a heat.
An additional heat has been added to the Alabar Sires Stakes Series using the heat form format to qualify for the Championship/Silver.
The Board was keen to maintain and increase stakes, where possible, to ensure a positive future for Harness Racing breeders and owners.
